Maksimovsky Kushak: it’s Time to Revive the Tradition

The article is based on archival documents, statistical publications, and oral history materials. The author examines the traditions of the Molokan craft of the 19th century and modern innovations in the production of kushaks (sashes) in the village of Maksimovka, Buzuluk district (Bogatovsky rayon) of the Samara province, as well as the inclusion of kushaks in contemporary cultural practices, such as museum presentations, design projects, and competitions.
