Small genres of Kyrgyz ritual and household folklore found in the texts of ancient Turkic written monuments (VIth-IXth centuries)

This article discusses the philosophical and didactic meanings of some small folklore works (prayer of supplication, curse, blessing) found in ancient Turkic written monuments (VI-IX centuries). In the life of the Turkic-speaking peoples, including the Kyrgyz, special attention was paid to such concepts as “master of the word”, “positive and negative energy of the word”, which materialized mainly in the emotional vocabulary, which proves the reality of the processes associated with the concepts mentioned above. An extremely cautious attitude to the word is expressed, for example, in the proverb “Though you speak in jest, think it over for a minute”, which has a deep moral and ethical connotation. As an example, life situations reflected in proverbs that served as harbingers of turning points in the storyline of unique examples of Kyrgyz epic poetry are given.
