Marcion of Sinop and the question of the relationship between the old and new testaments

The article contains an analysis of theological views of Marcion of Sinop on the relationship between the old and New Testaments. Despite the fact that Marcion lived and worked in the 2nd century, his theological heritage has attracted attention for many centuries. An example of this is the interest in the Marcion from Adolf von Harnack in the 19th century and a number of modern domestic and Western researchers. The article provides basic information about the life of the Marcion, discusses the ideological foundations of his teachings, presents various assessments of his activities. The works of modern researchers present statements that contradict the Tradition of the Orthodox Church. On the other hand, these works help shed light on some of the already familiar stereotypes of thinking about the relationship between the two Testaments.
