The issues of educating the younger generation are now considered as a state level priority. In this regard, the ways of educating the culture of life safety in modern schoolchildren seem to be very relevant to study in view of the increasing number of adverse factors that can potentially have a negative impact on children. It is emphasized that the event approach to solving this problem is one of the most effective in terms of preventing the deviant behaviour, as well as its growth among schoolchildren. It is revealed that an event can be realized through an activity, including the participation of a large number of actors. A comparison of features of mass events organized in the real-world and virtual environment is presented. It is noted that the participants of the educational process in the secondary school acknowledge the events held in a face-to-face format that involve active personal interaction to be more effective in terms of education, but online events seem to be potentially more promising in the context of total digitalization of society.
