Medical education in the intermediary language: problems and solutions

The article highlights that the educational process in a medical university in an intermediary language has a number of important issues that have to be taken into account: mobility, communication and the teacher's interest in tracking realities. It is noted that in different eras, various methods of teaching a foreign language were discussed; these methods considering the native language of students, also called an intermediary language, with varying degrees: consciously practical, comparative, direct, nationally-oriented. The authors draw attention to the fact that the main requirement of modern methodology is the communicative nature of education, which involves the use of the native language of students, or an intermediary language. In conclusion, it is emphasized that medical education in the intermediary language is a constantly evolving process that leads to a positive result only through harmonious cooperation between students and the teacher.
