Media and information literacy of modern library specialist

The article describes the results of a sociological survey conducted among employees of the departments of library and information services of the Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Library. It is noted that the topic of media and information literacy, today, is very important, even vital, for libraries and their staff. New knowledge will allow library professionals to master new competencies, which in turn will contribute to the creation of new types of services and greater demand for libraries.
