A memetic approach to language research: the analysis of annual popular words from the journal “Yaowen jiaozi” (2008–2025)

From the perspective of memetics and based on corpus analysis, the article examines 180 popular words selected by the journal “Yaowen jiaozi” in 2008–2025, specifically the changes in their linguistic features during the process of meme propagation. The analysis should be conducted mainly from two perspectives: the way of formation and the linguistic changes.
