Memoirs as a source of studying the history of the Russian ballet theater

The article considers memoirs as a source of studying the history of the Russian ballet theater. Conditional parts available memoirs of figures of Russian ballet in the following periods: memories leaders of pre-revolutionary Russian ballet theatre, the memories of figures of the silver age, including a memoir of ballet emigrants of the first wave, the memories of figures ballet theatre of the Soviet period; the memories of figures ballet theatre of the post-Soviet and modern period. The author analyzes a number of memoirs related to the first and second periods. In conclusion, it is noted that subjectivity is one of the specific properties of memoirs as a source of information, but their study allows us to understand the author's personality more deeply, to consider in detail, in detail, the era described by him and the events that occurred in the history of the Russian ballet theater.
