The article describes 13 Khakass mental verbs and verb-nominal phraseological units with a dominant element of attention, which, according to the nature of the manifestation of this feature, are divided into two semantic types: 1) verbal vocabulary expressing arbitrary attention to an object; 2) verbs expressing involuntary attention to an object. As a result of the work carried out, it was revealed that the semantic structure of these verb units is extensive and only depending on the contextual use, they can realize the sign of attention. Also, the analysis of the linguistic material showed that one of the properties of the thought process lies in the indirect nature of its course, where regular connections are made between the data of the subject's life experience: early acquired knowledge, sensation, perception, memory, attention, etc.
