Measures to counteract the smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors within the framework of customs control on the territory of the Russian Federation

The urgency of the problem of combating drug addiction and illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances need no explanation. The article analyzes objective and subjective signs of a crime under Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The characteristic of drug smuggling across the customs border is given. The reasons and conditions of such criminal acts are highlighted. Measures to counteract the smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the framework of customs control are considered. The drug situation in Russia continues to have a tendency to aggravate. The problem is that drugs cause enormous and irreparable harm to all of humanity. The article defines the main documents that regulate the fight against drug trafficking, as well as identifies existing problems and provides ways to solve them.
