Place and role of dance in the Beijing opera

Dance in the Beijing Opera is distinguished by its unique aesthetic system, excellent performing mastery, symbolism, submission to certain canons allowing to create a bright artistic image of the character of the performance. The article describes the characteristic features of opera dance, reveals its functions and forms. Special attention is paid to the specifics of the actor’s performing art in opera dance.
