The role of cantata "Huanghe" of Xian Xinghai in the musical culture of China

Nowadays, the issues concerning the features of the Chinese musical art of the first half of the XXth century, borrowings of the theoretical foundations of Western European music, the development of forms, styles and trends as well as the works of the Chinese composers are actual. These are the reasons of the interest to one of the first composers of our times Xian Xinghai whose creativity influenced many generations of the Chinese musicians. The cantata «Huanghe» processed by modern Chinese composers occupies a special place in his creative work.
