Collagen metabolism in the risk assessment of development of diabetic foot syndrome

The article presents the results of inspection of 46 patients with diabetes mellitus types 2 and diabetic foot syndrome. Disorders in collagen metabolism brings the significant contribution to development and maintenance of macrovascular complications, including diabetic foot syndrome. The relationship between increased dysplastic stigmation and rapid progression of diabetic foot syndrome was determined. The combination of diabetes mellitus, diabetic foot syndrome and increased dysplastic stigmation reduces the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation.
