The subject of the article: The Metaphysics of Music in the Creative Activity of N.V. Stankevich. The object of the article: The XIXth century: the life and work of Nikolai Vladimirovich Stankevich (1813-1840) - a Russian writer, philosopher, researcher. The goal of the project: to update the information of the life-meaning of a unique person who lived only 27 years, but managed to impress his contemporaries with the spiritual power of personality, moral purity, integrity of world perception and creative energy that left a rich epistolary heritage which allows to see the intellectual history of Russia, formulate the basis for research work. Methodology: the construction of the concept of the context of the atmosphere in the Moscow circle of Stankevich, which included outstanding people of Russian culture of the XIXth century: Annenkov, Belinsky, Herzen, Granovsky, Dobrolyubov, Ogarev and others who became a certain kind of the "clot of cultural and historical air that was semantic reflection of "people of the forties" (G.S. Knabe); the accentuation of the main categories in considering of Stankevich's reflections as a connoisseur both of art and metaphysics of music in his work: inner voice, music perception, sound, melody, rhythm and intonation, opera, theater, musical education etc. The creative atmosphere organized by Stankevich in the circle, his outlook, his philosophizing about art, literature and music - are semantic milestones in the study of Russian culture and art. It is important today, in the XXIst century in Russia, when the process of comprehending the constructive activity of Russian "spirit-bearers" is taking place. The results of the work: the inclusion of this dynamic process of perception of art as "dilettantes of high taste" to the XIXth century, as an important milestone in the overall picture, as the sources of the formation and development of the national spiritual culture and science. The field of application of the results: Stankevich's experience, which has become a unique practice of the formation by a particular person of his consciousness, worldview, perception of art, is a new, little-studied phenomenon that stimulates research interest, opens up the possibilities of comparative methodology. The awareness of this phenomenon makes it possible to clarify and detail the general patterns in the development of scientific understanding of the significance of his activities in the domestic humanitarian thought in history, philosophy, culture and musicology. Conclusion: the scientific novelty of the research is in the comprehensive analysis of the materials of Stankevich's philosophical, musical-artistic, literary and epistolary creativity in the context of Russian culture, which makes it possible to improve the database, reflecting Stankevich's life and work; to include these materials in scientific circulation as unique, helping to change the perception of the state of history and a man of the middle of the XIXth century and to represent his ideas in the Russian musical culture. Thus, the conclusions presented in the article, are reasoned and logical.
