The author presents the concept of turning the screen into a cultural universal. The urgency of the problem is obvious due to the accelerated expansion of screen technologies in all spheres of modern culture. The phenomenon of the screen of three types is presented. The first screen openly demonstrates the projection, which is an artistic fiction. The second screen is a translator of simulations (political, economic and spiritual). The third screen is internal, psychological. The subject of culture is surrounded by screens of the first type, including photography, painting, cinema; of the second type, such as television, monitors, smartphones; a person also carries a screen of the third type, carefully cherishes and painfully experiences its destruction. The concept is presented in the form of a reflection on the Myth of Plato's cave. The author presents the social effects and anthropological risks of the global spread of screen forms of communication, education, and creativity.
