Metaphor: the issue of translatability and identfication

The article touches upon the issue of metaphor translatability and the possibility of identifying metaphor in a text. We argue that translators can benefit a lot from following a concise metaphor identification procedure. A methodology of MIPVU (Metaphor Identification Procedure created in Vrie University of Amsterdam) is explained and the examples in using it in translation practices are given.
