Metaphoric representation of the coronavirus pandemic in the English discourse

The article deals with the metaphor as a means of the representation of the coronavirus pandemic in the English discourse. The conducted analysis will allow to conclude that metaphors are an important means of the expression of new knowledge about the situation associated with the pandemic. In the modern English language metaphors design the disease image as the enemy image and the cooperation of a man and disease is described in the terms of war, battle and disaster.
