The article offers a cognitive discourse analysis of the colours red and blue in metaphorical modelling of psycho-emotional disorder. The author considers linguocultural specificity of these colours at the iconic level of British and American rock-discourse. In general, this article suggests a detailed comparative analysis of three metaphorical models. Notably, the model of the colour red RED - DANGER was identified only in regard to British rock-discourse, whereas the model of the colour blue BLUE - ILLNESS was identified in terms of both British and American rock-discourse. The author notes that the model RED - DANGER is actively used at the iconic level of British rock-discourse in the depiction of panic as a form of psycho-emotional disorder. The reasons of panic might either be overt or covert. The colour red can be found together with emotions depicted as fear, bewilderment, paranoia, etc. As for the model BLUE - ILLNESS, it is realised in both studied discourses paragraphically (e.g. madness, fanatic) and in the overall colour scheme. The colour blue accompanies various forms of psychoemotional disorder - from extreme apathy to uncontrollable cries or insanity. As a result, a range of conclusions is produced based on the research into the correlation of the metaphorical modelling of colour and psycho-emotional disorder.
