Visual metaphor phenomenon in political cartoons is a unique means to make a reader understand what lies behind the scenes. The authors attempt to analyze visual metaphor as a kind of creolized text in political discourse. Political cartoons are popular among readers. They attract reader’s attention by creating visual images and simplifying the process of understanding. The authors classify visual metaphors and conclude that they are a unique means to attract readers’ attention to social problems.
