The principal factor method in machinery and equipment valuation

The problem of estimating the market value of a machine with known characteristics on the basis of information about the characteristics and costs of its analogues is considered. In this case, the type of dependence of the cost of machines on their characteristics is considered unknown. The author suggests a method of solution close to the method of principal components, shows that it is applicable to the evaluation of several machines based on data on the same analogs, and believes that its use will increase the validity of calculations of the market value of machines and equipment.
