Methodological approaches to assessing labor productivity of cruise tourism employees

The article based on factor models and index method of making management decisions suggests the assessment method of labor productivity of employees working in the sphere of cruise tourism. The study uses the synthesizing indexes system for assessing cruise tourism effectiveness. Each index determines the influence of human resources both on the results of cruise industry activity and on their costs. Taking into account the common European trends, the comparative analysis of effectiveness of employee performance among leading cruise destinations is conducted. The authors determine that the difference in the levels of labor productivity in different countries is the result of country tourism policy integrated in different programs, regulation, and priorities which form the basis of its economic development. The study also reveals structural differences in the level of labor productivity in different sectors of the economy.
