The relevance of the study is due to the requirements for the professional training of employees of internal affairs bodies presented in the modern period. Based on the analysis of the provisions of the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated 02.02.2024 No. 44 “On approval of the Procedure for organizing the training of personnel to fill positions in the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation”, the article considers the established approaches to the organization and assessment of professional service, fire and physical training of employees of internal affairs bodies. It is noted that the adopted system of assessing the training of personnel of the internal affairs bodies on the scale of “satisfactory - unsatisfactory” actually delimits the minimum acceptable level of training of employees from the level that does not allow them to effectively perform their official duties. Arguments are given for the advisability of searching for new solutions due to the need to overcome the negative trends associated with the staffing of the internal affairs bodies. The purpose of the study is to develop an original methodology for assessing the professional and service training of employees of the internal affairs bodies. Methodology (materials and methods). To achieve this goal, the methods of analysis and generalization of regulatory legal acts and scientific sources on the research problem, statistical and comparative analysis, and the systematization method were used. The results of the study are presented through a description of the methodology for assessing the professional and service training of employees of the internal affairs bodies, a distinctive feature of which is a differentiated approach to the requirements imposed on various areas of service activity and categories of positions of employees of the internal affairs bodies. In conclusion, the author substantiates the conclusion that the author’s methodology for using information on the ratio of levels of professional service training and levels of fire and physical training allows for a more qualitative assessment of each employee’s compliance with the requirements for the position held, as well as the formation of a personnel reserve.
