Pulmonary embolism is one of the dangerous diseases. Complete or partial occlusion of the pul-monary artery or small branches by an embolus or thrombus causes damage that is often incompatible with life. A large number of fatalities and disabilities makes the disease even more significant from the point of view of fundamental and clinical biomedicine. We have proposed a new algorithm for studying blood fluidity in patients with pulmonary embolism. We have studied the so-called direct and indirect (rheological) parameters in patients with pulmonary embolism in different locations (venous and arterial compartments) and in the control. In this work, for the first time, we introduced a gradient of parameter change, which was equal to the ratio of parameters in the arterial compartment to the arithmetic mean value in different locations of the venous compartment of the blood. Using this algorithm, it was empha-sized that the change in blood fluidity occurs against the background of changes in all direct and indirect parameters, but with a pronounced change in the aggregability of erythrocytes. In summary, it is neces-sary to regulate the aggregation of erythrocytes in pulmonary embolism to obtain a better treatment result.
