Methodology of Role-Play on the Topic «Trial»

Introduction. Trial is the central (main, principal) stage of criminal proceedings. Only by the court can the defendant be found guilty of committing a crime and punished for what he/she has done. The aim is to demonstrate the possibilities of the roleplay in teaching the topic «Trial», defining the stages of the role-playing game, revealing the organizational and methodological features of their content. Materials, Results and Discussion. The research was based on the methods of pedagogical observation and expert judgement. The proposed approach makes it possible in the process of learning to take into consideration the interrelationships between pre-trial and trial stages of criminal proceedings. Conclusions. The paper contains the author's methodology of role-playing in the course of studying the discipline «Criminal Procedural Law (Criminal Procedure)». Learning modeling of law enforcement activity is a powerful stimulus for activation of independent activity of students to acquire professional competencies in the educational process, ensures cultivating the skills of obtaining evidence at the stage of preliminary investigation with regard to peculiarities of judicial investigation. Moreover, it contributes to the development of public speaking skills at court hearings during pre-trial and trial proceedings in criminal cases.
