In search of efficient teaching methods for the “History of Philosophy” as a field of general philosophy, the article mentions the thematic schemes of other authors. The cultorological model of the history of philosophy is used as a basis for the methodic experiment, which, in addition to such common historic types of philosophy as cosmocentrism, theocentrism, anthropocentrism, is complemented with knowledge-centrism, state-centrism, logic-centrism, sociocentrism, cosmism, humanism. The article explains the precedence of culturalism over personalism, which follows from distinguishing historical, socio-political, scientific and other factors of the societies’ development and confirms a thesis saying that “a human is a product of his time”. The article’s methodologies are represented by the methods of classification, chronotope, comparative historical analysis. To absorb the educational material more efficiently, the students are provided with a chronological table “Culturological model of the history of philosophy”, that they fill in upon studying the themes. The author highlights the methodological fruitfulness of the proposed table, as a student follows the evolution of philosophical thought while filling in the table throughout the semester. The conclusion suggests that the proposed chronological table is convenient and suitable for all interested people as it can be filled at one’s one discretion and one can “see” the general world outlook. The opinion highlighted is such that the table “works” to organize the students’ thinking and helps shaping their worldview position.
