The article examines the methodological contexts of educational transformation of interaction between a university and business structures in engineering education. An analysis of scientific and pedagogical research has revealed the main reasons for the transformation of education: the transition to a new technological teaching, the phenomenon of economic knowledge, increased demands on young specialists. The driving forces of the contradiction in the educational transformation of interaction have been identified, the researchpotential of axiological, prognostic and integrative approaches has been revealed, and there may be options for solving the problem of formational transformation. An expert assessment of the correctness and feasibility of research methodologies in modern conditions is given.
