The aim of this work is to describe the technique of endoluminal high dose rate adaptive brachytherapy performed as neoadjuvant and non-operative treatment of rectal cancer (RCC). The Department of Radiotherapy of the NMRC of oncology named after N.N. Petrov has extensive experience in brachytherapy of tumors of various localizations, including RC and anal canal cancer. The use of the technique started in 2008 and continues till now. The article highlights the methodology of brachytherapy treatment procedure and presents a review of foreign publications concerning practical aspects of this technology.
