Methodological foundations for measuring the social well-being of pensioners

The author considers the main approaches to the interpretation of the concept of social well-being. The psychological approach to the definition of social well-being involves its consideration in two directions - as a personal and mass or group consciousness of an individual. The sociological approach is defined as an individual's satisfaction or dissatisfaction with various aspects of life. In the socio-psychological approach, social well-being is considered as an integral unit of social mood. Based on the analysis of the selected approaches, two blocks of assessing the social well-being of pensioners were identified. They are the social living conditions of pensioners that do not depend on them, such as the economic situation of the country, the political situation, the internal and foreign policy of Russia, the activities of social institutions; and individual living conditions that depend on their will and desire, that include financial situation, social status, health status, image of the future, social activity, quality of life.
