Methodological peculiarities of teaching philosophy in higher schools

This article discusses some features of philosophy teaching in higher schools of Russia. The author believes that the most complicated and important stage is students' leaning of such basic concepts of the philosophy science as "philosophy" and "metaphysics", clarification of polysemantic terms, which is essential for independent study of philosophical works by students. It is shown that making abstracts of ancient and modern philosophers' books leads to better understanding of the philosophical origins. The paper reviews a variety of approaches to teaching philosophy depending on the students' major (humanities, natural science).
