The article presents key approaches to interpreting the phenomenon of the “Russian world” in the cultural-philosophical aspect: civilizational, linguo-semiotic, religious-philosophical, socio-cultural and critical-liberal (ideologically conditioned). It is shown that the integration of these approaches (primarily civilizational and religious-philosophical) allows for a deeper understanding of the nature of the Russian world as a civilizational community based on unique values. The principles of a comprehensive culturalphilosophical analysis of the Russian world are formulated. It is shown that the meaning of the concept of the “Russian world” largely depends on the context and the interpreter, so the main principle of its study is value-oriented analysis. The authors emphasize that it is necessary to determine the level of analysis: the Russian world as an ideal model (idea, ideology, values), or as an empirical reality (communities, politicians). It is fundamentally important to apply comparative studies: comparison with other civilizational concepts (“Islamic world”, “Anglo-Saxon world”, etc.) will help to highlight the uniqueness of the Russian world.
