Methodological approaches to the study of youth values in modern Russian scientific discourse

The article analyzes the most popular methodological approaches to the study of youth values in Russian scientific discourse. The source base of the study is represented by 34 publications on the subject of youth values with high citations. As a result of the analysis, it was found that Russian authors often refer to the works of M. Rokeach, G. Hofstede, R. Inglehart, and S. Schwartz as methodological tools. In most cases, information is obtained using various forms of questioning, survey, interviewing, testing. Social media monitoring is used to a lesser extent. Correlation calculation, factor analysis and cluster analysis are quite often used among statistical research methods. The scaling method is used both in the questionnaire itself and in the processing of the respondents' responses. The meanings of value concepts are studied through lexical-semantic analysis and discourse analysis. The projective methods of drawings and unfinished sentences are used. In general, we can state the predominance of quantitative methods over qualitative ones and the development of author's research designs.
