The proposed article attempts to show the role and place of the family in the upbringing of the child and the importance of gender roles in culture, which has become very important issue at the present time.The evolution of gender roles in culture and their theoretical and methodological foundations have been viewed through traditional values. Many key concepts of gender roles were discussed in this article. It should be emphasized that the article is based on the materials of the dissertation research of the author. It is also based on the foundations of folklore, which includes various aspects of the development of the gender roles in the culture of the Kyrgyz people. In order to diagnose students' perceptions, attitudes and behavior towards gender-roles, a questionnaire “Survey of gender-role assessments in traditional culture” was designed. As a result, it is concluded that universities implement a holistic set of methods of pedagogical experiment of all kinds. This experiment tests the model for the development of the gender-roles of students through traditional Kyrgyz values, as well as the conditions and means of its implementation. Key concepts arising from some societal problems, such as divorce and abuse, are identified and interpreted. A scientific analysis of the works of historians in the development of gender roles in the culture of university students is given and ways to solve some problems in education are proposed. At the same time, the methodological solution of this problem is relevant. Gender roles are considered as the core of the phenomenon of gender, and it is determined that specially developed methods will help solve the problem. The goal is to create a model for the development of the gender roles of university students through traditional Kyrgyz values, to develop a methodology for introducing a technological model for the development of the gender roles of university students based on traditional Kyrgyz values.
