Methodology for Evaluating the Effectiveness of University Career Guidance
The article considers the problem of assessing the effectiveness of the university’s career guidance activities in the context of a variety of formats of work with schoolchildren and limited comparability of existing indicators. The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that in the practice of universities, career guidance work is most often assessed by the number of events held and the volume of coverage of schoolchildren, whereas forits effective construction, data on the depth of interaction, changes in the educational trajectory of participants and the contribution of specific formats to the formation of the applicant stream are significant. It is shown that in the logic of evaluating career guidance programs, it is necessary to distinguish between resources, activities, behavioral effects, immediate and final results, and career guidance itself should be considered as a complex intervention, and not as a set of disparate activities. A framework methodology for assessing the university’s career guidance is proposed, based on the analysis of the participant’s trajectory, the typology of interaction formats, the levels of evidence of the result, and the calculation of conversion along the student’s routes. The transition from event–based reporting to a route model is justified, in which the object of analysis is not the event itself, but the probability of a student’s transition between successive states of the trajectory: from primary contact to deep interest, then to sustained engagement, applicant action and admission to this university. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using the proposed model as the basis of the internal methodology of the Far Eastern Federal University, a pilot testing tool and an analytical standard for subsequent management application.
