The article discusses the methodology for selecting an optimal model for assessing the quality of an information system. The importance of choosing the right model depending on the assessment objectives, system characteristics, resource constraints and stakeholder requirements is emphasized. An overview of existing models is provided, selection criteria are analyzed and a consistent approach to selecting a suitable model is proposed. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the stages and criteria that will allow systematizing the selection process and ensuring that the final model meets specific assessment tasks. The obtained results allow to increase the objectivity of the quality assessment of information systems and to minimize the risks associated with their implementation and operation.
