Methods for forming intercultural tolerance

The article describes methods for developing intercultural tolerance among students of professional colleges and universities, which can be used by teachers in the process of learning foreign languages. The principle of orientation towards intercultural communication is one of the defining principles of modern language education. A tolerant approach to intercultural communication in pedagogy is aimed at positive education, within which students are explained the features of a multicultural world in which each social group has the right to be «other». The methodological basis of the pedagogical process of developing intercultural tolerance is the following methods of influencing the student’s personality: the interactive modeling method, the case-study method, the simulation method, the cross-cultural method.
