This article introduces the concept of motivation, with the help of this the relationship between motivation and the level of knowledge of students is described. Details are considered aspects of the motivational sphere of students in mathematics lessons and the possibilities of their application at various stages of the lesson are revealed. The basic methods of strengthening the system of external and internal motivation are proposed. Motivation methods are also recommended that allow students to achieve high results in a math lesson.
