Metrological traceability as a quality management tool in the laboratory

The article is devoted to the study of metrological traceability and its role in ensuring the operation of the quality management system in laboratories, in particular, testing laboratories operating according to the ISO 17025 standard. The article discusses the concept of metrological traceability, its principles and requirements for implementation, as well as its significance in the context of quality management. Various approaches to ensuring metrological traceability and methods of its verification are considered. As part of the study, a scheme for demonstrating metrological traceability was developed, which shows the relationship between laboratories and the values obtained as a result, and regulatory documentation was also considered. Based on the information received, the need for metrological traceability in a laboratory operating in accordance with ISO 17025 was analyzed and justified, the importance of implementing a metrological traceability system in the laboratory everywhere was established, and the relationship between the calibration and testing laboratories within this scheme was established. The article also identifies possible risks for the laboratory in the absence of metrological traceability. In conclusion, the useful effect of metrological traceability established by international standards for the testing laboratory was revealed. It consists primarily in the economic effect, as well as in improving the quality of services and others.
