Interdisciplinary methodology of the situational approach in firearms’ training of cadets of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs

Introduction. The author substantiates the interdisciplinary theory and methodology of the situational approach to formation of professional competencies of lawful and effective use of firearms. The aim is to study the situational methodology and improve the toolkit for scientific search of the meaningful reality of professionally-oriented situations, which reflect the essence of the professional competency of “lawful and effective use of firearms”. Materials and Methods. The analysis of learning, methodical and scientific literature discovers conceptual theoretical and methodological basics of the general scientific, interdisciplinary situational approach. Results and Discussion. Due to its universal character the situational approach reflects integral connections between educational subjects during formation of professional competencies of lawful and effective use of firearms, facilitates the development of the platform for situational methodology to overcome contradictions between theoretical explanation and practical visual perception of the procedure of actions in making the decision to use firearms. Conclusions. The results of substantiating the methodology of the situational approach in firearms’ training will ensure the development and application in the learning process of the programme complex of training and control of knowledge of legal grounds for using weapon in operative work.
