The interdisciplinary approach as the basis for the analysis of the cultural industry is substantiated, which consists in using components of different methodological approaches to research, guided by the specifics of a particular sub-branch of the cultural industry and the needs of a changing external environment. Interdisciplinarity as a methodological basis for the analysis of the cultural industry considers the cultural industry as a special subject of analysis that integrates diverse data on socio- economic and cultural phenomena in order to identify patterns of their genesis, dynamics, and features of types of activity. The existing classifications are not sufficient for the modern cultural industry, but a dynamic shift in the concepts of the core and periphery of culture, a mosaic principle of construction, as well as fundamentally different opportunities for active individual border crossing than before are characteristic. The cultural industry integrates accumulated knowledge in the field of related sciences and fields of activity, excluding any methodological unification, in favor of methods capable of solving the problems of a complex level of cognition of a multi-component phenomenon of the cultural industry. The study of the phenomenon of the cultural industry involves a combination of approaches, as a result, the cultural industry appears as a certain way of producing cultural meanings, organized in accordance with the requirements of modernity and actively contributing to the transformation of the surrounding reality.
