Intercultural communication in higher educational institutions: a sociocultural approach

The article examines the processes and problems of socio-cultural adaptation and intercultural communication, in the context of changing realities of the environment of their life, as well as the main problems that may arise on the way of communication, both at the initial stage of learning a foreign language and in real communication. Some techniques are also proposed that a teacher can use to avoid these problems in the process of teaching a foreign language. Intercultural communication is one of the rapidly developing directions in foreign language education in Uzbekistan. Of particular interest is the study of barriers to intercultural communication in a foreign language environment. The main barriers are language and non-verbal barriers that reduce the effectiveness of interactions.
