Mythological thinking in an archaic society

The article notes that the archaic rural local societies were characterized by mythological thinking, which, as a certain form of consciousness, contributed to the formation of world perception, laid the basic principles of social life. It is emphasized that mythological consciousness and thinking are properties not only of primitive society, but also of modern society. Myth-making is inherent in a person on a permanent basis, but in history it can take different forms. Based on a critical analysis of X’s concepts. Ortega y Gasset, K.G. Jung, N. Khrenov, A. Akhiezer and other researchers have determined the role and significance of mythological representations in the daily practical life of a person, their influence on the speed of his adaptation to the surrounding social world. It is established that the culture of an archaic society was formed as a rural culture of myth, symbol, syncretic unity of man with nature, animal and plant life; the land and the need for its processing contributed to the development of a culture of rural production.
