In the work, the author sets two main tasks: to show the dialectical relationship between science and mythology; and to examine the fact that Russian thinkers most naturally use the process of mythologization of science in their works. This issue has garnered interest in modern philosophy, particularly in the 20th century, especially following the recognition of the irrationalist ideas of A. Schopenhauer, S. Kierkegaard, F. Nietzsche, and A. Bergson. The emphasis is on Russian philosophy, since in the works of domestic philosophers’ science was deified and mythologized more strongly than in the works of their colleagues in the West, becoming that religious and philosophical justification with the help of which it is possible to transform society to the ideal. The author considers the mythologization of science as a non-standard intellectual practice that legitimizes rationality, thereby allowing a clear distinction between the concepts of “mythologization of science” and “near-scientific mythology”. Mythologization of science serves as a specific way to remove the contradiction of understanding of any phenomenon by bringing constructive meaning to it.
