The article deals with a series of stories by V.S. Loginov dedicated to Siberia. The consideration is based on the stories “Siberia”, “Chingizov’s Cases”, ‘Atik-Murza”, “Old Man”, “The Beginning of the Campaign”, included in the collection “Siberia” (Kharbin, 1943), as well as the story “Basma”, published earlier in the collection “Yal-Mal” (Harbin, 1930). The potential cycle of these works can be represented as an intertextual unity with the dominant of the central mythologeme, from which rows of binary oppositions diverge, having increased archetypal and symbolic meanings. The main oppositions are the opposition of Russians and aborigines, which goes back to the invariant “own vs others”; man - beast (invariant “civilization vs nature”) and male - female (invariant “strength vs weakness” with subsequent recoding). The center of this location is the mythology of Siberia. Its dominant character is expressed not only in the fact that it is present in all texts, but also in the fact that it goes beyond the limits of the presented works, penetrating into discourses located on the border of documentary material and fiction. The general mythopoetic structure that characterizes the Siberian theme in Loginov’s work is enhanced by the abundance of a set of linguistic means and the peculiarity of the rhythmic organization of texts. The mythopoetic comprehension of the development of Siberia becomes the most important constructive basis for the writer’s work and leads to the creation of an integral literary utopia.
