Population migration as a factor of regional demographic security (case study of Volgograd region)

The article examines the major population migration trends in the Volgograd Region in the context of their impact on the regional demographic security. Based on the analysis of statistical information, quantitative, educational, age and territorial parameters of migration flows in the Volgograd Region and the risks arising from them are established. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the situation both in the field of population migration and in terms of the main demographic indicators in general in the region remains extremely tense. A forecast of further demographic changes is given, taking into account the established trends, and recommendations are offered to slow down the migration outflow of the population from the territory of Volgograd Region. In conclusion, the preservation of the human potential of the regions must become the basis of an updated state demographic policy.
