Migration sentiments of student youth (the example of Siberia and the Far East)

This article discusses the issue of student youth's migration sentiments using the example of certain regions of Siberia and Far East at the present time. Based on the theoretical and factor analyses, the authors come to the conclusion that the migration sentiments of young people studying at higher education institutions, are formed according to different combinations of objective and subjective factors. The main factors of the migration sentiments of Siberia and the Far East universities graduates are low salaries in the region of residence, poor infrastructure and housing, self-actualization issues, in particular, difficulties in getting high-quality higher education. The results of sociological surveys revealed that about one third of university students have a desire to leave the region and Russia after their studies. It is concluded that this trend is common for the country and requires adjustments in the implementation of state migration policy.
