Mineral resources sector in the economy of the Republic of Buryatia: current state and trends

The article presents an analysis of the main indicators of the socio-economic development of the Republic of Buryatia. We have identified the main reasons for the underdevelopment of the regional economy, the quality of living, and the significant differentiation of personal incomes. An analysis of the state of raw material base shows the possibility of its use as a priority area of the republic’s sustainable development. We have considered the key indicators characterizing the influence of the mineral resource sector on the regional economy, and revealed the main factors limiting the functioning and development of the mineral resource sector in the Republic of Buryatia. The article presents the priority tasks for the development of the mineral resource sector in the republic within the framework of the environmentally friendly economy.
