The paper presents the results of an empirical study aimed at determining the targets for psychological rehabilitation (the type of attitude to the disease, manifestations of depression and anxiety, quality of life, and hardiness) at different stages of rehabilitation treatment required for further development of the psychological correction programs for post-stroke patients. To collect empirical data, the authors applied the following techniques: Type of Attitude to the Disease, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, The 36-Item Short Form Health Survey, and Hardiness Test. Statistical data were processed through the SPSS correlation analysis. The study reveals that during the compensation period within the rehabilitation process, it is necessary to maintain the harmonic, ergopathic, and anosognosic types of response to disease, the physical and psychological components of the quality of life, and the hardiness of patients. The research determines that during the readaptation period, the rehabilitation targets include the anxious, hypochondriac, and dysphoric types of response, the manifestations of depression and anxiety, the involvement and the physical component of the quality of life that can be compensated by vitality, social functioning, control and risk acceptance, and the psychological component of the quality of life.
