Theses and texts of reports presented at the online round table “Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky) - an outstanding Russian hierarch, thinker, theologian of the 20th century. To the 160th anniversary of his birth (1863-1936)” held on March 28, 2023 at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy are published and later sent to the editorial office of the “Russian- Byzantine Bulletin”. The life and creative path of Metropolitan is reviewed. Anthony in his homeland, during the period of his ideological formation. Particular attention is paid to his apologetic works - polemics against Tolstoyism, Vl. Solovyov and representatives of the “new religious consciousness”, sectarianism and Catholic propaganda, as well as an apology for monasticism, the Church, solid monarchical statehood and the ideal of Christian- national unity. The individual theological ideas of the hierarch are considered - the idea of reflecting the Divine Trinity in the plurality of the Church, the concept of Divine love as a force that unites both Divine Persons and human personalities in the Church, as well as his contribution to philosophy as an exponent of the anthropological proof of the existence of God. Attention is paid to the emigrant period of Metropolitan’s life. Anthony in the status of head of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia; his numerous efforts to counteract the godless persecution of Orthodoxy in Soviet Russia; relationships with representatives of other Local Orthodox Churches, heterodox figures, and political organizations; his contribution to the preservation of Russian Orthodoxy, the veneration and glorification of Russian saints, the unification and implementation of the spiritual mission of the Russian emigration.
