In recent years, online education has gradually transformed from a peripheral form of knowledge into one of the key institutions of modern society. The study was conducted in August-September 2025 in Yekaterinburg using a quantitative and qualitative analysis of 100 user reviews related to the most popular online courses of the largest online schools, including Yandex.Practicum, Skillbox, Netologiya, and Contented. The study has found that online courses demonstrate both significant advantages and significant challenges. Another important aspect is the support system, where some students encounter incompetent tutors and formulaic responses. Although most users complete the course, demonstrating their commitment to the courses, the difficulty of obtaining refunds remains a significant barrier to choosing online courses. Not all courses offered on these platforms meet the quality of education and student’s expectations.
