Leading Russian translators of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century such as T.L.Shchepkina-Kupernik, V.V.Rogov, G.M.Kruzhkov and others interpreted it. The article presents the first publication of T.L.Shchepkina-Kupernik’s poem “The Shepherdess’ Love Song (on the theme from Marlowe)” in two editions (early and final), created approximately in the 1930-1940-s, from the fund number 571 of the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art. Being not one of the most valuable Marlowe’s creative achievements this pastoral poem at the same time attracted Russian translators as a bright reflection of literary and cultural processes during Queen Elizabeth’s epoch characterized by some expression, sense of simplicity, sincerity and originality.
